By the way, the correct colour term is actually "Grey Metal"

I'd call the likes of My Dying Bride or Paradise Lost a kind of light Grey Metal, a particular sort of miserable gothic-tinged doom that's like 'just piss off and leave me here to die'. I suppose suicidal stuff like Xasthur could fit in at the deep end.

Anyway, I remember the term 'grey' metal tried catching on years ago with Agalloch and their followers. I think 'green' suits these new guys better. As Zad said, grey would fit even MDB and their ilk better.

I like Red and Black Metal. But then again most of the anarchists are anarcho-socialists so Real Black Metal with an emphasis on the historical aspect of anarchism is cute. Sadly, envirometal or green metalwould apply to Cattle Decap and others too I think, making it not exclusively the Cascadian stuff.
