Yeah, I was hoping to trash the new song!

Cradle of Tim Burton? A new song's up on Blabbermouth, very goff.

Nothing can be as horrible as Dimmu Borqueer's new single, though I'm not quite sure about newer Cof.

New Accept leaked. It's an excellent classic heavy metal album and a good comeback effort.

I prefer my Lilith not to look like Helena Bonham Carter. Danzig spits in their general direction.

I kinda dig the female vocals, but what's with the happy, bouncy melodies?? Not sure if want. Horrible coverart, btw.

It should be made law that no metal band shall have shonky digital cover art.

It's better that way. I helm the Dimmu Borgir defense force and I assure you that you are better off without that song.

+1

Carter would be careerless if she wasn't Mrs. Tim Burton.

Thumbs up for the song 'Lilith Immaculate' and the album cover. I've always enjoyed Burton's work and Dani certainly doesn't hide the fact that he's a huge Burton fan. The female vocals are strong and sound a bit like Nera, the vocalist from Darzamat.

I don't think CoF will ever better 'Dusk and Her Embrace' and 'Cruelty and the Beast' but this single sounds ok.

Hmmm...
love their logo, it's one of the best, and agreed about Dusk...
a good album for what it is. Which is a gothic metal album swimming in erotic overtures.
The weak spot is Dani's shreiking.

Cruelty had a few decent tracks, much prefer Vempire though.
My favorite tracks from Cradle, though, are the orchestral interludes on Damnation (A Bruise Upon the Silent Moon, The Mordant Liquor of Tears, A Scarlet Witch Lit the Season). They do that very very well, and if they decided to forget about metal and focus on orchestral soundtrack type material, I think that would suit them much better.

I'll give it a listen, perhaps. I've always given them a chance, though they have let me down pretty consistently since around '98 or thereabouts.

Vempire is a pretty sick album as is the principle of evil made flesh.

Cradle of Filth is decent but sometimes the vocals are just annoying. Not a band I keep up with at all though. Hearing a track from them once in a while is good though.

I pretty much give them similar marks. 'Dusk and Her Embrace' being the pinnacle of that style and 'Damnation' being the only other album of theirs I bothered buying--the orchestral stuff is quite good.

Also agreed that Vempire/Principle is decent material too.

The problem has always been Dani's vocals; however, their material has aged better than Dimmu's. I wish I had only 2 Dimmu albums and 5 CoF albums instead of the other way around.

Another link to the new Dimmu song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5dwKf_p ... re=related

Not quite as bad as I remember, but it's still pretty silly. At the very least, it's more interesting than anything I've heard from In Sorte Diaboli, but that's not too much of a compliment. The last part of the song is its saving grace.

Those girl vocals are really annoying.

Dunno if its been said but new Virgin Steele..

VIRGIN STEELE

New album "The Black Light Bacchanalia" will be released in
Germany / Austria / Switzerland: October 22nd, 2010
Europe: October 25th, 2010
USA / Canada: November 9th, 2010

Available as limited edition digipak, standard CD, double gatefold vinyl and download

David DeFeis reveals: “The album is called: THE BLACK LIGHT BACCHANALIA, and the following tracks will most likely end up on there: BY THE HAMMER OF ZEUS, PAGAN HEART,THE BREAD OF WICKEDNESS, THE ORPHEUS TABOO, , IN A DREAM OF FIRE
NEPENTHE , NECROPOLIS (He Answers Them With Death) , TO CROWN THEM WITH HALOS Parts 1 & 2 , THE TORTURE’S OF THE DAMNED, THE BLACK LIGHT BACCHANALIA (The Age That Is To Come) and ETERNAL REGRET.
It will be a long album...close to 80 minutes...The album (to be really brief), concerns the reversal of all things...Once conquered by invading cultures, older Pagan deities become the demons…of the new religion. The Black Light Bacchanalia is a reversal of the sacred sexual customs, and the final desecration of the "Goddess Principle", switching from matrilineal descent to patrilineal descent, with the rise of the idea of the Mountain-Fire God.... And it also has to do with ancient fears such as the fear of the sun not rising...Lyrically it is a kind of continuation of the story I told on the last album...Musically it is quite something else...”

Ooops, I failed to recognize 'Damnation' as one of their better albums, plus it contains my favorite CoF song 'Better To Reign In Hell'. 'Nymphetimine' wasn't all that bad and their were a few things on 'Thornography' that I could tolerate but 'Godspeed' did nothing for me. As for Dani's vocals, I've found that people either love what he does or absolutely despise it.
