Yeah, I don't really know... I want to guess about a couple of months ago, when I moved out for real, and not just studied abroad. I am now in Oslo, living by myself, or with a couple of flat-mates. My new GF, being a couple of years older than me, have taught me a couple of things, that will come along. I feel more mature now than I did a year ago maybe. I think however, that when I get to buy my own appartment, and actually own something, it wil change for the better again.

I'd say last year when I was 20 or so. Really kind of solidified my studying style and my maturity. Being single now could throw this all to shit. I have a fear of solipsism.

Speaking from the late 30's.

For me it changes every 5 years or so. Learning fades, hobbies change, careers change, people drift apart, your body can't do what it once did, people marry, divorce, have kids, etc.

As for how it develops, I find it primarily depends on your job (or school), leisure activities and relationship status. However, it also depends on your unique personality traits that others pick up on, i.e. your sense of humor.

I wouldn't worry too much about finding an identity .. find stuff you like doing and your identity will follow.

There is no such thing as solipsism man, you'll find someone out there.

Musically a year or two ago I realized there's probably something I like in any and every genre which made me a lot more open minded towards listening to anything.
