Wouldn't this be really cool? Like all of your favorite black metal riffs but in the form of really really chill melancholic electronic music.

Sounds like an apt description of Dimmy Boregir.
Just replace "death metal growls" with "pseudo-black metal growls".
In fact, that ought to be their official genre label.

I thought of Aphex Twin's first two albums reading thread title because that's totally what an electronic version of Dunkelheit would sound like.
