Unlike, say, Afro's hilarious gif.

It's funny how Shagrath always styles his corpsepain, to have lines like fish gills going down sideways on his cheeks. He looks like a fish and maybe thats why his voice sucks as much as it does.

So the album has leaked. Wow. I have to say I was not expecting this.

Excluding Gateways, this is easily the best Dimmu Borgir album of the past 10 or so years. It sounds like a mish mash of their first 3 albums with some of their modern touches (Shaggy's deteriorated vocals and the oddly rare Symphonic elements). Also I have no idea where Snowy fits in . . .

Best album since Spiritual Black Dimensions or best since Enthrone Darkness?

Probably best since EDT. Then again, I've only had one listen-through, but to my ears it sounds almost nothing like the chugga chugga keyboard stuff we're used to. In fact there's hardly any noticeable symphonic elements at all, mostly just straight up Melodic Black Metal with Melodeath fillings.

Nothing else is like 'Gateways'...wow I'm shocked.

So my prediction of how Gateways is to Abrahadabra as The Dragontower is to Reptilian may have been correct!?

I do remember reading somewhere that critics said Gateways was far and away the worst song, so yes I suppose.

Herm, doing some research. It could be that the leak I got is not legit. I'll have to dig a little deeper.

Edit: Yeaaahhhh, Born Treacherous doesn't match up. Shame, whatever album I got sounded pretty great.

So, false alarm people. In all likelihood this album will turn out to be terrible.

That's what I was going to suggest because that would seem odd if there were no other symphonic elements present.

By the way there's another new song streaming on their MySpace called Born Treacherous....and it's a weird one.

Shit, that's what I got as well. But hey, I have it on my computer now and it's probably miles better than what the new Dimmu will really sound like.

Awesome guys, a Greek band I've never heard that is getting good reviews. I'm much relieved that I get to check out this band instead.

OK, so I've finally listened to the REAL album.

Good. Definitely better than I was expecting. I'd say it's better than DCA and ISD, though of course worse than the fake leak. ^^

Dimmu Borgir and Chess with the Abyss were probably my favorites.
