It will be a hard fucker to do with all those solos. I can't even think what expert would be like.

But then again, guitar hero is gay so I'll stick to my downloaded version of the song.

I've never met a Guitar Hero song that I can't beat on expert... the game got too easy for me, so I don't buy the games anymore. I'll probably never buy this one, but I might rent it just for the really good songs (this one, 2112, etc.).

Sorta. It's split up into the seven steps of the suite. I don't know if you can actually play the full song without breaks or just each of the steps, though.

if it's in full, or there is an option to play it in full then this game just became a purchase.

Sounds a little dirtier than the production on Endgame, I likes.

Seriously, 2112 is not that hard to play on a real guitar. I think the fact I've jammed along to it several dozen times already makes a game based on that concept redundant. And Besides that, you haven't really experienced the music until you've played it and this does nothing to further those ends.

Real guitar is for old people. Nothing compares to clicking 5 different colored buttons at different times while thinking you are talented at something.

And they say sarcasm doesn't print well...

I guess the only good thing about this is perhaps people that only listen to what their corporate masters say is good music might get into the band.

Wasn't this thread about megadeth...surely whatever they are doing is going to be excellent as always. That's something i'm noticing as I write songs, how people want to pigeon hole it into a genre, so bands that just slightly change their sound taking shit for it are in a tough situation. There are a ton of records out there people bitch about not being true to the bands style when they are basically still pretty similar to what they've always done and even so, the music is still great. I'm looking at you Labyrinth and Kreator.

Don't flatter me, I play songs on guitar using basically power chords and unison 4ths. I'm not a professional guitarist by any stretch, and when I say jam along, I mean I make up my own solos and shit like that but make sure it's in key. I get the notes write of the rhythm parts and the melodies, but the leads are open ended anyway. People that sit around and learn tab note for note don't understand the purpose of music (unless you are in a cover band, then I understand it)

Go look up the tabs for "discovery" pretty much all open string single notes for 3 minutes.

But the whole point of playing along to a record, when i'm not singing, is to become a part of the music, another element, not to directly copy alex's parts.

I play guitar like lemmy plays Bass, but with mediocre lead work thrown in there. I realized about 6 years ago I was essentially wasting my time learning how to be the next Steve Vai, but I should focus on being the next Geoff Tate. I'm thoroughly happy with how things have turned out.
