What's wrong with you?

Bah. Arsis were always fairly boring.

It doesn't happen very often that he's wrong about things, so let him have it for once.

Which doesn't change the fact that he's indeed wrong about this.

Yeah, I just shouldn't have said anything. My mistake.

I don't think they are the worst of the tech death plague, they just don't stir my imagination as say Ulcerate or Crimson Massacre. Their newest cd however, I thought was a step in the right direction, as they still retained their excellent musicianship but the songs actually were coherent.

Wouldn't really draw any direct comparisons with Arsis.

I have known these guys, not well but known them through a mutual friend, for few years now, and honestly this album is a bit of a step down from some of there older self-released stuff. So if its a 96/100, i'd love to see what you all would think of them on top of there game.

Just wanted to say I keep coming back to this album. It's an excellent piece of melodeath in a genre that's been pretty dry as far as solid releases lately. Thanks for the review.

I think the score is well deserved. The whole thing is musically outstanding. I usually don't enjoy that much soloing, but it fits so smoothly into the fabric of the song that I can't imagine the album without it. Musicality aside, the album's lyrical content might be, for lack of a better word, the most intelligent thing I've heard, well... ever. If you haven't looked up the lyrics yet, I highly recommend you do. For those who missed it, the song "Across the Folded Line" talks about the possibility of time travel by moving faster than light. Following it up, "The God Particle" takes on nothing less than quantum physics and the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Someone earlier said that this album was nothing groundbreaking, and I urge you to look again. If only all bands had lyrics this deep.

This album has the best solos of any album in 2010. These guys are just killer guitarists.

This review convinced me to check out both this record and Arsis' 'A Celebration of Guilt.'
Gotta say I like both of 'em....
For what it's worth to anyone...

It was the guitar solos on this record :dio:
With Arsis it was the riffing on 'the Face of My Innocence.'
(I read the review here first, 'course)

Just listened to Biomech and was like 'wow'. I'm not sure why people don't hear Arsis when listening to this. Which is perfectly fine to me given my love of Arsis. The goofy chorus rhyming god with god is even awesome. This is just great melodeath (which is few and far between let's be honest).
