Grimy, dirty, vile, and brutal those words perfectly exemplify this album, and to me it's a unique album as the thrash roots are diminished in exchange for some of the first death metal riffs. Along with Effigy of the forgotten and Blasphemy made flesh, these albums took Morbid Angel's formula and pushed them to new extremes. I still love hearing Vomit the Soul, Rancid Amputation, and Gutted, great songs from a formerly great band.

This week Holy Terror was more suited for a classic status.

Both bands are suited for being classics, Holy Terror for being an extreme metal pioneer and Cannibal Corpse for being an influence in death metal.

I used to really like this album. I wonder if it's stood the test of time for me.

Such an outstanding album. I can understand why someone would get bored though. It's an album that you have to be in the right mood for, which I guess is true with any music. Everyone has great command of their instruments, and while this might not even make the top 3 of my CC list, (probably The Bleeding, Kill, and The Wretched Spawn) it serves as the stepping stone into greater forays. And we cannot expect CC to digress from Evisceration Plague, even though I thought the album at least deserved 81-83 / 100.

Of course you are bored to death because of this album, you have Sounds of the Playground firmly implanted into your vag and can't take real metal. BTW, I'm still awaiting this to attain it's rightfully deserved classic status.
