I cannot wait to check this one out.

I loved Unsun's debut, "The End of Life."

The debut is what it is. A fun listen and nothing more (and nothing less). I put it in the same category of Raintime "Flies & Lies," a catchy rocker that captures a pure fun attitude with no pretense at becoming a classic.

I'd be curious to see what you guys rate the debut, cause there's a lot of great stuff in it. Good rhythms, flawless production, a goth sound that doesn't sound negative.

And the singer's vocals are unique and charming. She's got that accent, and broken english that is somehow endearing instead of embarrassing. She reminds you of that hot au pair you had as a kid.

That's just the debut, so I'll have to see how I like this one. The only way I could see someone hating the debut is if you hate pop-metal out of principle.

P.S. -- "The End Of Life" is also certified "safe-metal" when you have a girl in the bedroom. We should probably have a thread on that subject at some point. I've confirmed Nightwishs "Once" and any early After Forever is a TERRIBLE idea to have playing in that situation. One time I had After Forever's debut come on unexpectedly and BOTH of us got super creeped out. Anyway, I digress, peace.

Just listened to some of the new one.

Dude, this is awful. Your 68 or whatever was way too generous.

Give the debut a shot cause it's seriously good. This one just SUCKS. It's like they just rented a studio and plugged in a bunch of generic riffs, keyboard lines, and melodies.

Jesus, dude. If you liked the debut, how the hell can you say that about this new one? Did you listen to the debut? How many times did you listen to this new one? Just downloaded and listened once, then declared that it sucked?

The debut was good, not great, as is this new one. Solid stuff, but it's been done a million times.

You know what, man? I loved "The End of Life" on the first listen. Really catchy memorable melodies, and I actually found it to be unique in terms of mood and feel. While I don't listen to it all the time, the catchiness is still there for me 2 years later.

This one just doesn't feel inspired at all. Yes, I only listened once, and it was actually an effort to get through. I think the hooks just aren't there on this one, and there isn't much feeling either.

If i was a professional reviewer, I'd give the album a couple more listens, but luckily I don't have that obligation. Also, if someone else on here thought the album was great, I'd give it another spin as well. We have only so many hours to give our music.

I'd really be curious to hear the opinions of people who loved the first one and listend to the new one.

Here's the thing, you said the album SUCKS! All caps. Very emphatic. Based on one listen. Yeah, there's only so many hours in a day, or so many hours one can listen to music, but not every album is going to be a WHIZBANGPOW! kind of album. Some require numerous listens. Hell. Some require just two, because on the first listen you were in the mood for jazz, not death metal. I've had albums on my shelf for years, albums I thought I didn't enjoy, and then I give it another chance...and lo! It rocks. That's how it goes sometimes.

The sad thing here is that, if you were a reviewer, you'd likely have reviewed the album based on that one listen. It happens all the time.

And I'll say it again, if you guys had to pay for your music you'd appreciate it far more, you'd give those albums that require multiple listens a chance, and you'd find yourself enjoying music on a deeper level.

Of course, I don't expect many of you to agree. You've grown up completely oblivious to that concept. It's free, so it's so easy to discard it.

Makes sense, man. Btw, I got the album legally. Napster gives you all the music you want for a flat 5-15 dollar fee. You're right though, if I'd paid for it, I'd definitely give it more spins. However, I'd probably also like it more out of pure cognitive dissonance, since no one likes thinking they made a bad purchase.

And if I was a reviewer I'd listen to it more than once, since that's what a reviewer should do. However, I'm sure you feel capable of saying an album sucks on one listen at times.
