So in interesting twist, a lady has emailed me about her dog. His name is Brodi, 1 year old, almost fully trained, chocolate lab. The lady wants less money for Brodi then the guy who wants me to sell me the shepherd. Brodi is supposedly great with other dogs and cats where this puppy is a complete unknown.

I haven't 100% confirmed with the one guy that I'd take his shepherd pup, but just go see her on the weekend with full intentions on bringing her home. I've set up a meeting to now go see Brodi, who is cheeper and comes with all the basic dog needs. ie leash, collar, crate, food, etc..

So WTF do I do now? Brodi sounds perfect, but a puppy would also be very cool.

Puppies are cooler! You can shape her into anything you'd like!

If you are able to say no to a puppy then I can only conclude that you barely have feelings.

This is why you train them.

I say go for Brodi. He's already trained, so you wouldn't have to worry about taking time out of your busy schedule to train him. Plus, labs are great pets.

Labs are awesome. I'd be more worried about the 1 y/o dog's personality than the puppy's b/c might not have been trained well. I'd decide based on whether you want to put out the time of training a puppy.
