In my experience of growing up in central Pennsylvania, I have had many encounters with racism. I think it is due to lack of exposure and ignorance of other cultures. Many people around here are raised with this mindset of race superiority and I guess it cycles through the generations. It's this ridiculous concept people have around here that if you aren't from this country than you shouldn't be in it, it's disgusting.

Everyone at one point came from another nation/land bridge. Bigots have to remember that. For example, I'm not American, I'm a 3rd generation Italian American. I'm all about this Melting Pot denomination of America, it just fucking pisses me off that our borders are so open and people can just waltz on over and screw everything up.

The Melting Pot is so dated though. We are a 'salad' now. Part of the same whole, but without actually mixing--cabbage better stay away from me!
