I hang out and drink with metal heads and people who are into black metal all the time these days.

Some black metal obviously is probably better listened to alone, but hanging out with people, drinking, listening to some old black metal is fun as hell.

The more popular black metal becomes the better in my book. I wish I knew more people who were into it in my area.

Basically what I've found is you have a bunch of fucking faggots who write shit like "trve" and "grim" all over the internet who have yet to pick up an instrument or write anything close to what Mayhem, Satyricon, or Burzum, you know, the people who actually took it serious (I'm not talking about burning churches or killing people, I'm talking about the musical aspect).

Black metal is great but only some people will enjoy it and understand it due to it's nature, and what it contains. I'm not trying to be some anti-social guy who hates everyone and never has a good time. If more people were into black metal I would have more people to jam with and bands to play in. So who really gives a fuck about some form of music/idea becoming popular. It's just immaturity for you wanting your shit to be "underground". The more the merrier I say.

This album is the best thing they did, and together with Nemesis Divina the only good thing they ever released. The rest is overhyped bollocks if you ask me.

Even The Shadowthrone?
I've always considered The Shadowthrone far superior to Nemesis, personally.

Yeah well forgot about that one... I find this one and Nemesis Divina their best one. Their later outings are pretty damn crappy.

I actually liked Age Of Nero, but other than that, I am inclined to agree.

The only one I never could really get into was Rebel Extravaganza.

The late 90's is a weird as fuck time for metal though.

The Shadowthrone is possibly the most underrated album out of all the output of the second wave of BM. I can't see why DMT deserves all the love it gets compared to other Satyricon output, in fact it's my least favourite Satyricon album of them all.

I like it because it has some great accoustic passages and a lot of very creative catchy riffs. In fact, I'm going to listen to it right now.

Each Satyricon album has something to recommend it. In fact, not liking any of them is grounds for assault in my book.

VERBAL assault. :D   :dio:

This is a spot on remark. I just listened to The Shadowthrone laying in my room and absolutely loved it. Some really great parts. I was really sad when the album ended.

And what publicity did they get anyway? A blurb in metal hammer?

More like a cover.

You and Husker both need to get together and have a grand old black metal party to attract people. It will be extremely cool!

And the Shadowthrone is excellent, and definitely better than Nemesis Divina.
Dark Medieval Times has songs that stand out more, but Shadowthrone is of the same quality.

It was a huge deal back then. Why the hell do you keep talking about something you don't know like an idiot?

Plus, you like In Flames and looking at your signature you clearly are the expert on the black metal underground.

We do have metal/punk parties out here and their are people who are into black metal that attend.

I have over 2500 black metal songs so I think I know what I'm talking about. My overall band list under last.fm can back this.

Also if you paid attention to any review threads you would see that I comment on plenty black metal bands, particularly your precious kvlt black metal underground bands. Because they're my precious kvlt underground black metal bands too. :omfg:

And there you go gettin' mad and dropping In Flames again. Help. Police. Murder.

Not a very black metal thing to say.
