I haven't seen it before. I don't really understand the direction of the map, plus I wish it was a bit smaller so I could actually see it with out scrolling all over the place, but pretty cool nonetheless.

Yeah, I wish you could zoom out a bit, but other than that it's pretty awesome and surprisingly thorough.

That was cool. I'd never heard of trance metal before, I'll have to check it out.

Yeah I e-mailed them about a zoom function and they replied:

Thankyou for your feedback on the Map of Metal!

The reason we didn't add a zoom function initially is a technical one.
However we have had this suggested a number of times so we are looking into making an update that adds this in the future.

So hopefully it'll be there soon enough.

I seriously had no idea about Unblack Metal.

Virgin Black and Anorexia Nervosa are two really quality examples.

Virgin Black rings a bell....but never anything about them being categorized under that genre.

Metaphysical Christians doing quasi-black metal which has kinda become more doom-y but yup I'd consider that unblack.

Mezzo Forte is a tremendous album, and coincidentally enough, considering the other thread's conversation, features a lot of My Dying Bride appreciation.

Love Virgin black but forgot about that album. I'll listen to that in the car later.
