Tosin Abasi is a really cool guitarist and there's some interesting stuff on here but the production is bad, the programmed drums are annoying, and in general everything but the guitar/songwriting kinda sucks. I have trouble staying focused on it passed the first two songs. I have high hopes for their next album though now that he has an actual band behind him.

Also wtf you talking about missing a singer because the songwriting is strong, and Tosin cheating with effects? MADNESS

The guitar tone is either bland (cleans) or just plain bad (distorted); I think because he plugged his guitar into a computer instead of using an amp but I know very little about that. There's no separation between the instruments so it all just hits like a brick of sound with no subtlety/atmosphere/texture. Gave it 50/100 'cause I probably won't listen to it again.

I love this album it changed my life, but I can see how the production would bother some people. Personally though, I think it is very fitting for the music.

I'd not agree there, little noodles points out there's no separation in the mix which makes everything sound pretty indistinct which is a bad thing in general. A damned shame as it's the only problem with the album, the music is phenomenal.

Now you mention it, I wonder if they even recorded bass guitar on this album? I took another listen after a while and while I still like what the production was going for, Im starting to see where it lacks a bit.
