Hell Yeah!! I like it that you are finally hitting the right direction! got this one too. now some:
Mustan kuun laspet!!!
hate forest
trelldom
massemord
bloodthorn
nachtfalke
vidsyn
dark fortress (tales from eternal dusk or profane genocidal creations)
belketre
vlad tepes
tsjuder
XIV dark centuries
azaghal (they got a perfect split with mustan kuun laspet: two flies in one hit if you review that one)
cirith gorgor
havohej
sacramentum
ildjarn
algaion
satanic warmaster
blut aus nord
abigor
schattendasein
forest of impaled
enter chaos (only their debut)
and whatever you get your hands on!!! All great black metal bands (with some exceptions), they should be on mtv all day  I'm sure you have not heard about all of them, the azaghal and mustan kuun laspet split would be a good start...

How does it differ from the latest Carpathian Forest?

This one is more punkish than Defending the Throne of Evil, which is more Black Metalish; plus the production is more solid.

I actually now around 90% of the stuff in the list; anyway, I already have some reviews of that list planned.

Thanx for the feedback!!!

By the way; I forgot to tell you that General K (ex-Myrkskog, Disiplin), Hellcommander Nattefrost (Carpathian Forest, Nattefrost) and Nocturno Culto (if you don't know the band this guy's in your fuckin' lost) have formed a new band called Helvete.

I'm already drooling......

Nocturno Culto is is vidsyn :P Helvete... orginial name (not) but that does not matter. By the way, I can't see why you gave this review such a high score. don't get me wrong, as i said before, i like the direction you're taking with your reviews, but nattefrost is not that good is it? more like just some sceaming how the vocalst wants to have his cock sucked and lyrics like that... The music underneath doesn't seem as complex to me as you say: 75/100

Perfect album for a drunken evening!! But I agree, the score is too high. I would have given this more like....60 or 65. This is rather mediocre (did I spell that word right?), like the newer Carpathian Forest albums... dont hate me for saying this, it's just my opion.

Oh, I forgot to mention, these albums are worth reviewing in t´he future if someone would find time for them:

Nachtmystium - Demise
Krieg - The Black House
Xasthur - Nocturnal Poisoning
Azaghal - Perkeleen Luoma

and some Baptism and Horna too.
By the way, how come you dont review any vinyls?

Or splits! I don't know krieg, but agree with the rest. maybe older azaghal stuff would be better though.
nachtfalke would be interesting too, some songs have about the same atmosphere as this velvet cacoon stuff :D

I know it ain't complex, but complex doesn't equal good or great always, simple can be great too; I think it's a great album, it got me extremley entertained from beginning to end, I mean it's not great but it's good ol' straight to the point Black Metal; nothing spectacular, but still pretty good; although I get your point.... maybe 76 would have been better; th thing is that I wanted to make clear it's good; many times people just pay atention to the 80+ reviews, and think that 70 is bad or mediocre, I really like this one.
