Whatever the case may be, some people on this forum seem to have a lack of respect for people who love the heavy metal genre (in fact I've seen some people on this forum state they don't listen to much metal at all so why the fuck do they post).

Apparently listening to Metal is bad, unless you add Pink Floyd, Radio Head and Justin Bieber into the mix.

Then you're open minded and thus acceptable.

Maybe the website should change its name to Alternative Music reviews and the forum to Alternative Music Forms.

That way people know what they're getting.

If it says Metal on the packaging then it should be Metal in the contents.

And yet again, 99% of it IS metal, so you get DO what's on the packaging. And do not lump Pink Floyd in with Justin Bieber again, even a donut like you should be able to tell the difference.

Another reason why the reviewers on this site suck. Get this hipster shit out and review metal.

I don't care about either of them so they get lumped into the same category of "don't give a fuck about".

Do you people honestly give a shit about this album being reviewed? You guys need to smoke more weed or drink more or something.

I couldn't give a fuck what they review, I come to this website to talk about metal and music and find out about new bands, I don't even read 90% of the reviews I just look at the scores and genre to see if I should check it out.

Radiohead is just a great band that has made timeless music as is Pink Floyd.

Lots of people who love metal love all music and are just attracted to heavy metal for some reason, so I see no reason as to why a non-metal review should pop up once in a while. Maybe someone who was into radiohead in the past but didn't hear about this album or who is new to music altogether will see it and get into a really rad band?

That's what it's about after all, having a good time listening to music. Fuck elitism in music.

So has Johnny Cash, the Rolling Stones, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, The Travelling Wilburys, the Who, Hendrix, the Eagles, Bob Marley and even Madonna.

Or Bach, Mozart, Strauss, Tchaikovsky etc - in fact their music is more timeless than two bit rock bands. They're also more relevant than shitty Radiohead because many metal bands seem to have classical influences.

Where do you stop?

Site is a metal site dedicated to metal music.

I'm sure people who love country or classical or Ukranian folk music would be appalled to have a Deicide or Darkthrone album reviewed on a website specifically dedicated to those genres.

No I'm absolutely sure they wouldn't be "appalled" because they're probably not like stupid fucking metalheads.

You'd be surprised. Every forum I've been of have seen people raging over these types of issues - from political websites to wargaming websites to other music websites to military websites.

People have expectations and aren't happy when they're not met.

And not nice of you to call your fellow forumites stupid just cause they don't share your opinions.

What I find sad is that the same people have to post the same things each time the issue arises, ignore all attempts at reasoning with them, and then go on to stubbornly repeat the same tired points over and over. It's like arguing with a brick wall, but less rewarding.

I'm not talking about the majority of the forum when I say metalheads because most of the people that post here aren't stupid. However their are a lot of thick-skulled metalheads out there, don't worry I was one of them when I was younger.

You do realise that you and the other "include a bit of non-metal stuff/keep an open mind" proponents also rehash the same old tired arguments.

What one considers "reasoning" another may consider "repetition of same old points."

These things just like political and religious discussions always end in stalemate because neither party wants to give in on what they hold to be true.

I was too.

Nowadays I'm a lot more open minded. I tend to see more non-metal music (especially classical and musicals) these days than metal ones.

However I still expect to read about metal on a metal website.

Similarly I expect a site dedicated to WWII tanks to have WWII tanks and not go on waffles about 1990's electronic jamming systems.

Except you and the WAAH WARES THE METAL crowd consistently ignore the central point I'm trying to make - that 99% of the material reviewed here IS metal. That's not a tired argument along the 'review some metal/Pink Floyd is of equal musical worth to Justin Bieber' nonsense - that is stone cold fact. Yes, you are right to expect metal at a metal website like this. Do we call ourselves a metal website, and then never review any metal? No. It is FULL of metal! Metal is sodding everywhere! Look at it all! LOOK! LOOK AT THE METAL!
