In other news, grind fans short on cash should avoid the slightly dull new Rotten Sound, and instead wait for the new Benighted, which rocks.

The time has finally come to officially unveil some valuable news about MORBID ANGEL! The seminally influential Extreme Metal band has set "Illud Divinum Insanus" as the title of their eagerly awaited forthcoming album, which has been scheduled for a June 6th release (one day later in North America).

"Illud Divinum Insanus" will be MORBID ANGEL's eighth studio album, and the first since legendary frontman David Vincent rejoined the fold.

Prior to the release of the album, a single for the song "Nevermore" will be out on May 16th as 7" vinyl and digital download. The B side will be another song from the album, remixed by COMBICHRIST.

Well then. I think we were all pretty off-base on our predictions for what the album will be called.

Have heard the new Anaal. More of the same yet not quite the same, really... some good stuff, some uninspiring. Expect lukewarm praise.

Maybe it's a grower? I haven't heard it so I wouldn't know, but that's what I'm hoping for now.

I'm hoping it's a grower - they're a bit of a sacred cow, British Black Metal being the weird little runt it is, and although I've been expecting them to make something subpar for several albums now, they've managed to make each album worthy of existence in its own right.

I would say that some of the songwriting spark that made killer tunes like Do Not Speak and To Err Is Human - To Dream Is Futile so amazing is gone, however. And that's a real shame. Having clean-sung choruses that all sound the same is not a good replacement.

In the Constellation... was a step down from Hell Is Empty, but I was hoping they would've realized that themselves and do something about it. And I was hoping they would use less cleans on this one. Guess I'll just have to wait and see. I'm looking forward to the review.
