Most of us have come across a band most notably in black metal whose grasp of the dead language can be questionable at best. What are some cases or examples of bands that have completely butchered the language, and others should you choose to include translations who attempted at least some semblance of accuracy. If you have heard other genres outsidebm, what bands attempted to create songs in latin, and how did the album turn out

Italy's The Black have all their discography in Latin. So I should think their command of this language is decent at least. I've only listened to 2010 Gorgoni album and it's great. Latin gives a solemnity that goes very well with their rather special brand of mystic proggish epic heavy doom thing. Interesting band for sure.

Nazgul's De Expugnatione Elfmuth is entirely in Latin I think. A good black metal album if I remember correctly, although I should give it another listen one of these days.

There are a lot of black metal bands who do şit and it sounds cool but I have no idea if they are using it correctly or not since I have no idea what they are talking about.

DsO's latin is on the ball, Gorgoroth's was not.

Isn't Mayhem's latin consistently off the mark as well?
