Never thought I'd see this band get anything sub 85.. Everbody's been creaming all over them for many many years now, maybe it's time to give them another shot.

I would say a 79 is an appropriate score and by no means do I mean that in a bad way. Too many higher numbers are thrown around. Solid melodeath during times where most of it is pretty weak.

Also without Christian I think they should just ditch the clean vocals. The guy they have is mediocre at best and honestly the growls are badass. No complaints at all on that end.

Dark Matter Dimensions sucked. They will never make another album as good as Holographic Universe. I'll listen to this eventually but I'm not expecting much.

This band needs Alvestam back. Seriously. Not even two guys can fill his shoes. They need like 5.

I prefer pitch black progress by a slim margin.
I'll be getting the new release as soon as it's available in Canada,
but if it's anything like the first single I'll probably be disappointed because it sounded like Scar Symmetry on autopilot (where is the creativeness that made me a fan ?)

Yeah, this is kind of disappointing. Not a bad album, just lacking that special something that made Holographic Universe what it was. Illuminoid Dream Sequence is a great song though.

Scar Symmetry might be one of the most average sounding bands on the planet. Never heard a song that I didn't like. But outside of one or two songs it all blends together into one blob of sound.

I'll check this out this week or the next. Sounds like DMD 2: good but not great and bound to get old rather quickly. Too bad, I still adore PBP.

I really have to disagree with this. I think they have some really excellent musicianship that shines just about all albums. Unfortunately without Christian they just lack the extra punch they had previously. Like I said I think they'd kick a lot of ass just hanging on to the growling guy, he's got a great style... The clean vocals are just terribly unmemorable and at this point in the melodeath spectrum, pretty trite.

I would say their first album was pretty average sounding but then they stepped it up with PBP.

Grand: Yeah usually it's a toss up between HU and PBP for me. PBP itself is such a badass song.

I finally got this album and I like to report that the review is pretty spot on.
It's not a bad album by any means, they just take it a little too safe for my tastes.
They do have some bad ass riffs though.

Finally tracked this album down, and first impressions are very good. Already liking it better than Dark Matter Dimensions, though I am trying very hard not to compare it to Holographic Universe (listening to the title track off that one as I type this, and I doubt they will ever top it).

And yeah, Alpha and Omega owns.

More than three months later I have to take back what I said earlier. This is really good, definitely a step up from Dark Matter Dimensions. Still no Pitch Black Progress or Holographic Universe but I'm starting to believe that they might have another one like those two in them.
