Curious to hear this one. So far Tyr never failed me and, reading the review, it seems they won't this time either.

Ive noticed that in each album they seem to stir away from the folky/traditional sound they started out with. I havent heard this album yet (apart from a single song), but it seems they've gone more power metal this time.

Im not saying its a good or bad thing...just an observation.

And that's a fair one.

I too think they are going more power metal but i still fucking love it. Only heard Take Your Tyrant and it's awesome. Some parts of the song reminded me a bit of some stuff from Crystal Eyes except that this is much better and epic.

Solid album, but nowhere near a 95.

Why is it so insanely hard to find a download of this?

Dunno but i tried pretty much everywhere and couldn't find shit other than some fakes.

If it's leaked it sure is not widespread. I don't really care since i'm buying this anyway but it would have been cool to have an early preview.

The recording updates for the album are pretty cool, even if most of them involve the bassist being pissed.

But aye, might pick this up!

I had an opportunity to talk to Heri Joensen today and he is all anxious for this to finally be released.

Today is my birthday. I have draught beer. I also finally have this album. It is a good day.

I completely stand behind the score this album got. Funny they would release one of the worst and most unoriginal songs from the album on youtube before the release.

EDIT: And Konning Hans is my absolute favorite song of the year. Talk about powerful music ...

May has been a busy month this year for me, and I completely forgot to check this one out. Until now. I'm sad they're going away from folkish stuff, but I love it nonetheless. I'm ordering it as soon as I've hit the 'submit' button to post this.

This one has grown on me with every listen. True they have left a good chunk of the folk behind (especially compared to an album like Land), but this one just has that spark of creativity that makes each song a good listen. I especially like Shadow of the Swastika's groove, though the lyrics are a bit over the top for me.

My mind is a bit more blown with each listen. Oh boy do I love this band.
Flames of the Free, Shadow of the Swastika, Take Your Tyrant, Hall of Freedom, The Lay of Thrym are stellar. The other tracks are "only" good.

'tis a grower indeed, and this isn't even their best! I think if they took some university courses in english poetry .. they would be even better!

I also think they have the best sounding layered vocals in metal.
