I prefer Power Metal while I'm running miles but I'll listen to mostly DM and Thrash when I'm weight lifting. I've been listening to a lot of Nokturnal Mortum lately in the gym as well.

Brutal death metal crap like Vomit the Soul and Atrocious Abnormality, and when it gets really intense Incantation, Funebrarum, and Impiety, Marduk etc. I love blast beats and fast riffs or just crushing death/doom when I run..I very seldom lift weights but I do listen to those bands when I do.

I haven't been weight-lifting for over a year now but when I was weight-lifting it was with down-tempo Electronica. And mostly exercising with my own body weight.

I haven't had a decent workout in two months now. I'm definitely going start doing that again when my exams are over.
But to answer the question: I'm just like husker. I just put something on, doesn't really matter what it is.

Pretty sure there's already a "Weight Lifting Music" thread somewhere around here. But anyway, I usually prefer Motorhead for lifting weights.

Behemoth, Nile, Meshuggah, Cryptopsy: that kind of stuff is the only stuff that gets me motivated enough.

Really ignorant hardcore like Turnstile, Reign Supreme, Trapped Under Ice or even Enabler when I'm working out and grindcore like Pig Destroyer, Berzerker or Phobia when I'm running.

This actually. I prefer something with a powerful chorus while running to get me over that last mile. But I love my brutal death metal while lifting. Black metal fits in both categories depending on how melodic or, kvlt it is. I have a list on my iPod specifically for workout music.

Bolt Thrower, particularly when they slowed down and got their groove on. I can't lift to anything too fast, I save that more for cardio stuff, but if its the right pace and heavy enough, which BT mostly is, its great lifting music.

I love how you're the only other person who listens to them but you point it out every time I mention them. Hells yeah. :dio: Check out Turnstile. Seriously, it's the drummer of TUI on vox but hxc in the same vein. But not S.O.S. That shit sucks.

Bolt Thrower while lifting weights might be the most awesome idea ever and surprised I haven't thought of it before. I love swedish dm during weights like Grave with those really chuggy riffs. When I get back in the rhythm I think BT is going to be the reason.

I want to design a whole work out around Equilibrium's Mana. It has everything.

I don't really have a set category that I listen to when I work out. I just listen to whatever I currently have on rotation. If I feel like a burst of energy though some grind is always nice.
