I liked it. This mix of Doom Metal, Progressive and Viking Metal worked well enough to make me want to play the album a few more times. Now, we'll see how good it'll be once it stood the test of time but, so far, it's a convincing album those who love epic metal should check out.

There were things I really liked about it, especially on the first listen. But after a few more the blemishes became far more apparent :/.

Fantastic album and band.

I disagree with a lot of the review, especially the criticism of the vocals and production. You can obviously dislike the vocals, but the vocals are, in my opinion, one of the things that makes this band so good. The variety in style perfectly represent the shades and moods of the album.

And speaking of moods, the production fits it all perfectly.

It's almost as if you wanted these guys to be very basic doom-death, like Daylight Dies, one of the bands you mention being a fan of.

All my opinion, of course. I think if someone likes doom-death and the whole viking metal thing, then these cats are well worth checking out.

I do, however, wish there was one tune on here that equaled the brilliance of "Feast for the Earth," from their self-titled album. And the high-pitched wails aren't quite as good or prominent on Running Out of Daylight. Still a great album, though.
