If I was ever accosted by a group of indivduals, I would be grateful if a passerby snapped a few photos.

Instead of taking photos, how about they help you?

I guess what is more upsetting is it's use in political protests. Just because I'm protesting actions by the govt doesn't give them the right to catalog me. Or well I guess it does in an authoritarian police state that we live in.

Hurrah, I agree with Trapt on something! Police should be out catching real criminals, not taking pictures of Green-voting hippies with dreadlocks.

It's sad, because Clegg and Cameron should have been punished for their various crimes (although I'm pretty sure the victims of the Bullingdon club were paid off). Yet neither killed anyone, beat people to the point of death or destroyed businesses that were set up over 100 years ago by immigrants, bit of a lazy comparison all in all. Setting fire to some plants or getting drunk in a restaurant are quite different to something like this, which just suggests a lack of basic decency.

Let alone, again, attacking journalists for taking pictures of you, dragging people from their cars and setting them aflame, or beating a pensioner to death.

Social scum right there.

Fucked up, no?

It'll never happen. The government's e-petitions site crashes every other day, how will they manage to block Twitter? Ridiculous.

Most people don't want to get involved, even before cell phone cameras became popular. So, I see this as a positive development.

And really, it's not the fucking police taking pictures, it's the general public sending in pictures of people committing crimes. I really fail to see any problem with that ..

But the police are the ones who identify you. The practice of recognizing assailants makes sense but there is a weird practice that goes on in a lot of Middle Eastern and other harsh countries where activists are identified through photos put on the internet and are later harassed by the police through having been identified in a photo of a protest.

At this point in time if they are still going unabated, at least at a minimum use of non lethal measurements are beyond necessary. That and some very long prison sentences meted out in purely solitary confinement without visitation rights would be perfect, preferably in a subterranean facility, where they have no contact with anyone save the warden to bring them the food they earn after working a fourteen hour shift for the rest of their lives, to pay back for the damage they've caused.

The looting? Several days now, yes. Apparently they're scared of the rain. And thousands of coppers.

Good. Our riots in 2005 lasted for 3 damned weeks. Glad to see you guys know how to handle this better than we do.

So you are in favor of capital punishment and croatian style justice, we get it.
