I think this album is a better representative of the depressive black metal style along with Todeskult and Elysian Blaze. The riffing is dissonant and very atmospheric, and whereas hacks like Abyssic Hate and Bethlehem make a spectacle of themselves with a shitty vocalist and weak Burzum knockoff riffs, these guys can truly capture an atmosphere. Great review though I'd bump up the score a little bit

Missed this review. This isn't bad. Good, but not great.
I have Moon, Blood and Apparitions along with this one. Nothing groundbreaking, and not much variance (other than production; the Blood ep is horrendously produced, even for the genre), but it picks up where Xasthur leaves off, though not quite as effectively.
