you guys who are fans should all experience it and share back with me - again, I was/am not a fan, but may find more to like. To me it was respectable, but I did not fall in love with it
I'm listening to it now, and yeah, I'd prefer Hansen was still doing the vocals...but damn, I think these guys are extremely talented. The long instrumental sections in "World in a Dome" are serpentine and brilliant, and "Circumstanced" looks to be close to matching the mammoth "Pyramids" from their last album. And a number of the smaller tracks already appear fresh and varied...isn't "Desiderio Ominbus" about as heavy as this type of metal gets?
World in a Dome and
Circumstanced are my favorites too. Most songs in this album are quite ethereal and atmospheric, and I'm liking it more on every listen. The music is very layered, so full attention is required to discover the greatness of
Anubis Gate. So far, my quote would be around 83-86. Outstanding album that continues to elevate the name of Anubis Gate in the Power Prog movement.
I would like to add
Hold Back Tomorrow and
The Reformation Show as killer songs too.
