I love WITTR since Diadem (thx to your review), and they had never disappointed me, although I didn't love Black Cascade as the first two albums. I'll share my thoughts later.

Thank you for your honest review.

Much better than Black Cascade. Haven't fully fleshed out my thoughts on this yet but it's definitely good.

I think Blackened Doom Metal will be a very reasonable direction for Wolves in the Throne Room. I really like their sound on this album and I want to hear more of this sound on the next album with natural progressions, obviously.

Finished my first spin. The short tracks didn't seem to work, but the three that are 10+ are excellent. This is an 80 at least. Blackened Doom Post Shoegazy Metal, yeah :dio:

Woodland cathedral and Prayer of transformation were good tracks, but nothing reminded me that much of Two Hunters. This is an album that is a grower for sure.

That bitch sucks. Anyone else have noticed that Woodland Cathedral sounds very similar to Dea Artio? Especially the first minute.

I think that was intentional.
