Further to this:

That is quite clearly beyond the limits of what's acceptable. But corporal punishment for children: right or wrong in general?

Against, I'd say.

I stopped at 2'30, it's too much for me to stomach.

I'd kill both parents instantly. The woman is even more ridiculous than the man: "You take it like a 16-year old, you bend over and take it like a grown woman". Stupid bitch.

Let's just skin these people and hang them to a tree.

edit: I forgot to answer the question. A slight slap to little children is OK, hurting is not. It never has been OK, it never will.

Quotes from the guy's response:

Quote:
Perhaps Hillary Adams should explain, if she felt she
was raised by a tyrannical father, a claim shared with no
one until five years after adulthood, why she insisted on
living with her father and not her mother from the time of
her parent’s divorce, until she moved out on her own.

Because she's an obvious cunt who did nothing to stop this?

Quote:
Hillary Adams has been living on her own for some time, and
has been an adult for almost six years, so why post the
video in late 2011?

Err... justice, people? Showing the whole world what she's been through? Mere loathing towards a bastard? There are reasons aplenty, dummy.

Totally against it, even a light slap or smack. There are more effective ways to learn them childrens,

Smacking is only acceptable if the child physically hurts someone with intent, to teach them how bad it feels. Other than that it's a big no.

In this particular case, fuck both parents with a rusty knife.

This is sickening. You can tell the guy gets some perverted satisfaction out of beating that poor little child. That's the thing with corporal punishment, I think the people who do it actually love doing it.

I can't watch that. I'm against it. I never learned anything from being spanked.

I see no harm in a light slap to embarrass a kid more than to hurt.

i can't remember more than two occasions where i got slapped and didn't deserve it. but while i don't think a slap or two will damage a child, i know several examples of fine people who never needed more than a shout to be put in their place, so while acceptable, i think slapping your kids is a sign of relatively poor parenting.

I can't watch that. Had to turn it off as soon as she began screaming to stop.

I agree with you, though the purpose of spanking (which is the limit to which my kid will get, on the butt of course) is to establish a fear response to the threat of being spanked. Sometimes a kid just has to understand that when their parent expects an immediate reaction, such as stopping something before they hurt themselves, the expectation is that they stop immediately or there will be consequences. In my case growing up, being grounded wasn't nearly as effective as my dad taking off his belt. More often than not, he didn't even have to do anything, the thought of getting spanked and knowing it would hurt did the job.

Obviously there are people out there that have no concept of the limits to spanking (and I do not agree with smacking a kid personally), but to say any physical contact with a kid in that manner is abuse is taking it too far. That is more a society stigma than a realistic one.
