Stefan is going say (again) that I'm giving French metalheads a bad name, but since I don't care:

TO THE END AND TO THE DEATH
(tchak tchak tchak tchak tchak)
TO THE DEATH
(tchak tchak tchak tchak tchak)
TO THE DEATH
(tchak tchak tchak tchak tchak)
TO THE DEATH
(tchak tchak tchak tchak tchak)
TO THE DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH

...

So much better than sex.

I've had Bloodbath's Eaten on repeat for the last two days straight. Lyrics are fucking sick and Akerfeldt's growls are solid. Such an easy song to sing along with.

Jesus, Jesus Akerfeldt's vox went to shit on this. Heritage may have been spared having not had him growl on it.

Quite possible that Akerfeldt is facing the same sort of problems that I noticed from Stainthrope in MDB a few years ago--some of these guys seem to run into trouble with their growl vox when they advance into their mid 30s.

I feel this happened to Ihsahn too, like if you compared his vocals from Emperor to the songs he's in now (IE thorn by Leprous and Juular by The Devin Townsend project). His vocals are so fucking weak compared to what they were. The dude's 36 so he is getting pretty old.

Insomnium - One for Sorrow

My third spin in the last 15 hours and it is simply an outstanding presentation of emotional, dense, and very well composed Melodic Death Metal music. 92/100. They are definitely one of my favourite bands in the existence of Metal music.

On a Death listening spree today - started with "Scream Bloody Gore", continued with "Leprosy" and now halfway through "Spiritual Healing". I'm once again just struck by the musical brilliance of Chuck. Each album is a classic in itself and still he managed to take each one to another level. "Human" is next...

Has MDB ever done an album with strictly clean vox? I'm not digging the growls on Barghest.

Yeah. Angel in the Dark River (last track has growls but is from an earlier ep), Like Gods of the Sun, and 34.78% complete. Definitely think Angel in the Dark River is the best of those three.

Very good if you like the idea of Tool with a dose of black metal.

Sorta. But it's fucking good. Bird Eater and War Metal are less Tool-y though.
