I think you're grasping at straws with Limp Bizkit; you liked Gold Cobra? Really? And we've had the Korn debate before. I tried it, it didn't work for me, and just because I don't share your view of it - or the LB - is not a reason that I shouldn't write about it. In any case, my not liking two nu-metal albums does not make me an unreliable reviewer, when I also review and give positive scores to everything from Foo Fighters to Sunn O))).
You had a build-up for that Korn review that went on for months if not years. You can't try to like something you know you don't like. To suggest that you'd never heard the album before then is ludicrous.
Same with Limp Bizkit. You knew you would never like it, so you used your position as a reviewer to just talk shit. Not that what you did was even remotely a review.
But for the record, I've never heard Gold Cobra. Maybe it sucks, who knows, but even if it's amazing your review would not have changed.
And I never said you were an unreliable reviewer. Simply that reviewers should not be reviewing work from artists playing music they're not fans of. Your job is to be fair and objective, and you can't be fair and objective when your opinion is skewed from the get-go.
Why did I never review black metal albums? I wonder...
