Great album, their strongest, together with s/t and Condition Red.

Damn that chorus is cheesy as hell, hasn't that same chorus been done like a million times before?

I loved Battering Ram... and everything else by these guys. This is one of my 'staple' bands. Whenever they release something, I get it.

...and yes, it's typically the same sound on each album.

My favourite album is dark assault and unficatation. But I hold this one as their third best album. Nothing new, but solid and fun.

score:84/100

Btw I bought the limited edition and it was fun to hear their classic "Coming home" rerecorded witch came with it. Awsome!

This a great album, their second best probably after Condition red! Agree with Chris here!

if you think this is the better album from Iron Savior after condition red, you have only listened to Condition Red. Unification, Dark Assault and Battering Ram are light years ahead of this one. Even Megatropolis felt more inspired and less cliché than this one. Acctually this and the new Primal Fear are the most disappointed albums this season and both the worst song we've heard a thousand times before; heavy metal never dies and bad guys wear black.

Sorry to tell you man, but if you are looking for innovation then you are in the wrong genre. Primal Fear has been doing that routine since day 1, and will not change. Have to appreciate it for what it is or move on to something else.

As to Iron Saviour, I have never listened to them but sounds like something I should look into. So much metal (and music in general), so little time.

I liked Megatropolis for what it was cheesy and occasionally intense bit of power metal. Their s/t has its moments but hasn't captured me like Megatropolis, I'm definitely going to be spinning their older stuff at work tonight. I will check this out as well.

I'm not talking about innovation but INSPIRATION; I dont like music (or art, in general) being made on auto-pilot. SCHEEPERS album released last year kicks the new Primal Fear album in the ass, yet it does nothing "different", just pours more heart.

I recomend you to pick some Iron Saviour's albums. It's one of the best german bands and Piet has a unique voice, great guitar and bass tone, and fun sci-fi lyrics.

Hmm, alright will check it out. Also, I will look into that Scheeper's album. I enjoyed the new PF album pretty well, but I can see where you are coming from. Plenty of albums I feel that way about (Kamelot is the most recent that comes to mind for me).

Savior Machine, creation of mine... Oh how I once loved these guys. This album is the best one in a while, though, but an extra slice of cheese really hadn't hurt a bit.

You took the words right out of my mouth, NESS...

Primal Fear is also a fantastic band, who have experiemented slightly, but overall has basically the same sound structure they started with on day 1.

As for Scheepers' solo album, its good, but not great. The first 3-4 tracks are excellent and very much like PF, but after that it thins out considerably, with maybe 3 or so good tracks.

I actually liked Megatropolis. It made me think of Total Recall or something. Anyway, this is more power metal sounding and less straight forward metal rock than Megatropolis. It's more like their older stuff as far as style, meaning better guitar work. I agree about this genre being generally chessy. If you can't handle it, you are in the wrong genre. Bands like Hammerfall, Iron Savior, Iron Fire, Bloodbound, Brainstorm (to a lesser degree), Gamma Ray, Helloween, Ed Guy, etc... That's what this stuff is. Some of these bands are able to provide innovation through this genre, but the subject matter they write about is ultimately fantasy with the occasional metal ballad or metal anthem. I for one have plenty of space for all of it. Anything done well is worth a listen. If you like power metal at all, you will like this album.
