73? are you kidding me? yeah they changed style and what not but for what it is. its really good. I mean i do miss the heavyness in the band. i say this deserves something like 85-90.

Really anxious to get my hands on this album.
I love pretty much everything they ever released and I thought their previous release New Moon was Terrific. Come on amazon, please make good and deliver this damn thing soon!

Sounds a lot like latter era My dying bride.. It isn't my thing but it would be a great tool to introduce others to superior bands like Empyrium.

It depends on what you loved about New Moon. This album is definitely less heavy. Also, for anyone who wants to listen to it before/instead of buying it:

I think this album is great. It is a breath of fresh air in this genre alot like the new My Dying Bride EP showing a band that has evolved, but stayed true to form. I can understand the boring comment only because you need to listen to this when you have time to relax and really appreciate it. Give this album that chance and you will be very impressed. Have a dram of scotch, build a fire, and listen to the whole thing outdoors. That is what I did Sunday night in my back yard. I give this album an 85. This band has moments that could be compared to My Dying Bride, Katatonia, Opeth, Blazing Eternity, and October Tide, but still manages to be completely it's own. I saw them live this last year and they were amazing!

{Also listen to the newest My Dying Bride "The Barghest O' Whitby" it's one of my favorites this year. It reminds me of an Edgar Allen Poe story. It's gloomy, foreboding, and captivating.}

Hate Lead the Way is easily the catchiest song, but after many spins I find myself loving every moment of this new Swallow the Sun album. It takes you somewhere. Powerful, Mystical, Dark, and Enchanting. Imagine being trapped in a cave but the sun shines through an opening a few hours a day. Just enough to give you hope and the will to carry on.

Damn! You´re right they´ve lost something. I found myself bored with this also too many times. Their other albums are killer but I think this is way below

Oh, fuck that avatar.

Anyway, looking forward to this album. Haven't seen a copy around here yet, though.
