Regardless of how you feel about Roadrunner in regards to the metal genre, if this proves to be true the implications of where the music industry is heading is pretty significant.

My personal opinion is that downloading without paying is bullshit and stealing without question (unless for promotional purposes, in which case it is done at the band's/labels discretion). Pretty depressing news all around.

An industry that can't adapt to new technologies and opportunities is bound to fail. Roadrunner is not the first to suffer the consequences, they won't be the last either.
