They could have chosen a better title that didn't involve ripping off Fantomas.

These guys are so damn original they would never think about ripping anybody off. I think they worked with some Russian writer (Boris Kozokin) on the lyrics and that is how the title may have come about. I woudl not guarantee it though.

That's ok, man, the Fantomas ripped off John Petrucci.. who probably ripped off much older artists, books and films for the same name.. "Suspended Animation" isn't a hard combination of words to think of, heehee.

That said I think I might check this CD out, nice review man.

He most certainly doesn't, but he used to work there, I am not sure he still does being that he is busy and all.

Hmmm...maybe I just assumed that because out of the hundreds of times I e-mailed them he always replied. I just got that impression. Weird.

Listened to a sample on the website. Doesn't sound that amazing, a bit like Opeth gone more funeral-doom, with a bit of Nile thrown in. Not bad, but worth your plaudits?? :?

Opeth similarities may be there, but greatly exaggerated, and I hear aboslutely no funeral doom and definitely no Nile, there is not a single blast on the record. SM is its own thing, with the closest thing being a modern day Pink Floyd.

The Nile was a bit exhaggerated, I agree, but I felt the harsh vocals on one of the tracks I heard was quite doomy.

Those doomy vocals belong to Paul Kuhr of Novembers Doom the band I like and highly recommend. He is "doomy" no doubt, and I find his vocals close to those of Akerfeldt of Opeth. But those vocals are all doom you can find on SM. There are no doom chords, slow dragging rhythms, no funeral doom in other words. You can have harsh vox and not be doom.
