Adveser, dude, I like you. But this.....this was a crazy thing to say.

Not only did the man write great songs, but was a compositional genius in a grander sense than just traditional 'songs' (listen to stuff from his jazzy big band period for proof) and one of the finest rock guitarists who ever lived. Decent voice too, though that was never his focus.

Out of curiosity...have you listened extensively to his discography, or is this opinion based on a few bits and pieces?

Bought an album, heard various tracks from throughout his career and did not find very much emotional context for any of the playing really. That kills it for me. That's okay. His music didn't have anything for me and I can name a half dozen bands that basically speak through their music because it's just so resonant to me what they are trying to convey. Yngwie comes off looking like an ass too when people do not have the note tolerance to ingest that much information and have a reaction. I don't see what's controversial about deeming a performer or songwriter/composer totally useless as far as he/she is concerned. Pink Floyd and the Who really sucks too IMO. It's not like i'm picketing downtown or starting a religion to expose how stupid someone is for believing otherwise.
