Axioma Ethica Odini only grew on me with every listen and now it's become one of my favourite albums ever. Needless to say I'm beyond stoked for this. Don't know if I like the cover but it's definitely intriguing in some way.

Can't wait for that. /\

Trailer for the new Cryptopsy.

Underwhelming at best. Sounds less like the pile of shite Unspoken King was, more just... meh.

Meh is definitely the best way to describe that. It sounds like some of the more chaotic parts off And Then You'll Beg but with none of the catchy or interesting song writing. I mean it's just clips so who knows, maybe the full songs are more engaging.

I was hoping for something laughable instead of just meh. Oh well.

Track-listing for the upcoming Enslaved album:

1. Thoughts Like Hammers
2. Death in the Eyes of Dawn
3. Veilburner
4. Roots of the Mountain
5. Riitiir
6. Materal
7. Storm of Memories
8. Forsaken

Those song titles give an aura of something great to come.

Yes, I didn't even care for their older stuff (too deathcorey for me) but Intrinsic is just too melodic.

Something else to be stoked about, coming in October:

Image

I'm hoping this will at least be a step up from For Lies I Sire. And it might as wel be if The Barghest O' Whitby is any indication.

I thought Lies was fine, at least compared to A Line...

But yes, Barghest was really, really good, so I have pretty high expectations for this.

Well, it's no Spellbound. I realize that's unfair, but I can't help comparing everything since to it.
They never were the same without Sykes, though.
Tygers were one of the first metal bands I heard (around the time I heard Maiden's Killers, late 81 / early, mid 82, it was a long time ago, haha), so they'll always have a special place in my heart.

It's never going to be Spellbound again. Same with Def Leppard (High'n'Dry), Iron Maiden (1st or second) and so on... Those first albums always have the charm of the youth which is something one can't fake.
That said, I'm considering supporting those Tygers by pre-ordering Ambush, it probably won't be a great album but the teaser was nice enough to grab my attention.

Is there supposed to be a new Kamelot this year? Seems like I read something along those lines, but I cannot remember.

Kamelot’s next album will be titled SILVERTHORN, based on an original story and concept. The release date of “Silverthorn” has been rescheduled for October 26 (Germany), October 29 (rest of Europe) and October 30 (North America) via Steamhammer/SPV.

Poetry had some good moments surrounded by a lot of filler and mediocrity. I will definitely check this album out and see if anything has changed.

Agreed. Hopefully they got a kick in the ass for this album, would love something similar to Karma era. Thanks for the response.
