Great night of fights. Glad Machida is the one getting the title shot... Shogun has been underwhelming lately. Gassing in the second round will just lead to another quick loss to Jones. Not that I think Machida will do much better but at least he has a chance.

Swick's knockout was awesome. That's what makes MMA so awesome, that moment of transition from wrestling takedowns to swinging punches. \

Missed the second fight, because patrons at the first bar I was at began complaining about the fight being on televison.

Bader was fucking pathetic. Machida was impressive, I guess. I didn't enjoy the fight that much.

Rua was good, that first round takedown was super cool coming from him. I don't know what was worst, him running out of steam or him being lazy and not moving away from punches. He just stood in there like he was in a boxing match.

How could you not enjoy the Machida-Bader fight? That was a classic destruction performance. A thing of beauty. That fight is what makes MMA awesome. Machida didn't even get hit and then knocked out a legit contender. The Dragon is back! Although he'll get mangled by Jones, unless he can keep the fight standing...

Josh Koscheck forced out of his fight with Jake Ellenberger. The search for a new opponent is on. Mike Swick maybe? He said he wanted another quick fight.

And it's FIGHT WEEK!

UFC 150 this Saturday, picks?

I've got Henderson, Cerrone, Shields, Okami, and Holloway.

Also, Mirko Cro Cop is fighting in a 16 man K1 tournament later this year. Says he will make a successfull MMA return afterwards or die trying.

Henderson and Okami should be pretty safe bets... Cerrone-Guillard is a bit harder since Guillard can look like the best lightweight in the world at times but other times not so much. Cerrone's submission game gives him a bit of an edge so I'm leaning towars Cowboy. Shields' pedigree should make him the favorite against Herman but I like Herman and he's on a roll.

Fucking Cerrone. If Guillard could have actually landed some hits while he had him on the ropes that would never have happened.

And I'm not entirely sure Henderson won that bout.

And why they pair two wrestlers like Herman and Shields together I'll never understand. No matter how much you love wrestling those fights are just too defense heavy.

I agree that it was a slow fight and at times hard to watch, but Shields was tryin hard man. He wanted that mount sooo bad, and Herman just wouldn't give it up. It may of seemed as a boring fight to some, but I saw one hell of a struggle between two very tough dudes. I give a big props to Herman because Shields will be a mosnter, not champion material, but still a very tough guy to beat when he hits his stride at middleweight. Even GSP had a hard time handling Shields and pretty much avoided the ground game with him.

Chael Sonnen is returning to the light heavyweight division and will be fighting former champ Forrest Griffin. They actually fought each other in 2003 where Griffin submitted Sonnen I believe with an armbar.

Sonnen then had this to say about Jon Jones: I could go up to 205 and I could take Jon Jones' belt the same as I could take his candy on Halloween - a little punk kid, I'd snatch it away all I want.

He'll be welcomed to the WWE with open arms when he retires.

3 fights announced for UFC on Fox 5.

Benson Henderson vs. Nate Diaz for lightweight title
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Alexander Gustafsson
BJ Penn vs. Rory MacDonald

Best fox card yet? Methinks so.

We'll see, injuries will probably ravage that card like every other these days. Still, looking promising! Glad to see Gustafsson fight again.

Rounda Rousey, 9 fights (6 pro, 3 amateur) all finished in the first round via armbar. She added former Strikeforce women's champ Sarah Kaufman to the list last night in only 54 seconds.

Yeah I am listening to the conference call now. Dana White says Greg Jackson is a "fuckin sport killer". He is very upset right now.

Oh well, I love Machida and I am going to UFC 151, originally 152, so I'm pumped. Jon Jones and Lyoto Machida live!
