This bands melodies do not always grab you the first time, what else is new, this is prog. metal. They play very chromatically with a method to the madness style that shows a clear understanding of the roles of the notes and superb grasp of scales and modality. Fortunately for me and needless to say at this point, Thorsen and myself could not have a closer definition of the word melody. The preview track blew me away, so this album is definitely going to become one of my top ten albums ever as Vision Divine knocks another Rush album off the list.

Even though what I heard was on youtube, the production on this thing is going to be amazing, I was not quite as happy with what the last two albums with Timo Tolkki sonically had to offer, which doesn't make sense when The Perfect Machine, also by Tolkki, might be the perfect sounding record for the music and concept.

I'm really eager to hear the whole thing. I can't wait. The album of the year award is waiting to be claimed and VD always have the magic.

Be sure to tell me your thoughts on Lione. I don't like him so my judgement might be biased, but I'm not impressed.

According to the VD website, they have recorded quite a few songs as a bonus CD. That's going to be interesting hearing Lione sing the songs again that he co-wrote for Stream Of Consciousness. People forget that Lione wrote half the vocal melodies for that album. I've heard the early demos and Lione sounds amazing on them, so you can't say it's all Luppi's doing that those albums turned out so well. It will be awesome having two different versions of these songs though. The production that I've heard so far should make them unique and interesting.

I haven't gotten enough time with it yet, but Fabio sounds incredible as always and it's looking like it's gonna be a 98-99 for me. By the second run through some of these songs were exposing themselves as classics in league with the band's best. You all know by now I consider this bands worst in league with most's band's best.
