Another thing that doesn't make sence is he says he got 18 months for armed robbery. Idk what the laws are in Michigan but in jersey he would of got 5.

I worked with a guy who spent a year in medium security prison. He said the whole rape thing in movies is exaggeratted but can still happen on occassion. He didn't say anyone got killed, but there are fights with improvised weapons. He said there were weight machines, but no free weights that could be used as a weapon. Since Michigan is one of the most economically devasted states in the US, spending money on prison weights probably isn't a priority. He did say the food sucked though. A lot of people exaggerate their time in prison to seem tough, but why the hell would you claim you were raped if you weren't?

Idk why someone would claim to be raped if they were not. From what I could tell that was a anonymous post that the gut in the article made? I'm not sure. But I will say when you know your going to prison (I knew for sure for like 6 months before I actually went) you sike yourself up so much for how bad it's gonna be then you get there and it's like camp for men with razor wire. As for shanks... Yep people got em. I never saw some one get shanked but there were lots of fights. For the most part I never had a problem not because I'm tough or anything like that it's just how you carry yourself. I'm actually ashamed that I went away. Some people think its a badge of honor. Where is the honor when if I ever want to travel to another country I have to ask their permission to enter months in advance or face the possibility that I get turned away at customs. And what really sucks is how people look and treat you after they find out. Like a dangerous animal that can't be trusted. Can't get a good job. Parole expects you to go work at McDonald's. idk the whole system is fucked.

Oh yeah the food is awful. And some prisons won't allow free weights but they still have the machines.

And I'll finish with this: I always loved metal but going to prison solidified my love and appreciation fully. After listening to the same 8 rap songs for months I was ready to beat someone to death.

Why'd you go to prison, Snake?

I'm 30. Gonna be 31 in December. I've been selling weed since I was 15. I never got caught selling it but I had two felony possession charges. Got probation twice. Once for 2 years once for 5 years. I had completed the last probation term (5 years) in 2008. And in the time between then and 2010 I got greedy and started selling pills. Oxy's Roxy's all that shit. So summer of 2010 my house got raided pills weed bongs bowls baggies scales were found and I got charged with distribution and manufacturing. Turns out someone got pulled over a couple days before this and the cops searched them and found their pills and instead of taking their hit they ratted me out made some controlled buys for the cops and the rest is history. Those particular pills are bad news. They are basically like heroin in pill form. So I deserved prison. Just the ratting really Pisses me off. Anyway I've been out on parole for a few months and I've not done anything wrong.

The guy I knew also said there were catalogues of stuff you could order like clear TVs, radio, etc. if there was enough money on your books. He said there was a huge list of albums you could get, but they were all on cassette tape for reasons of security. I guess it is easier to make a shank out of a broken CD.

Ok when I got there ( this is all of nj) people who were there and had clear tvs and cassette players were grandfathered in and could keep them. You can't order them anymore. What you can order is a shitty Little clear Walkman with head phones that only gets radio. Christie Whitman was jerseys governer a while back and she changed things for inmates. You used to be able to get food packages sent in from family and friends. She stopped that. Then she stopped the tvs and shit. The only way you can get a tv is if your in a cell. Places like bayside prison have tvs. And cable. But if your in southern state where your in a dorm no tv.

You don't have to join a gang but there is definitely a stick with your own vibe that goes on outside. But in the wing(16 bunks down a hallway) for the most part everyone gets along. Gangs are very real in prison. Bloods kryps Latin kings aryan. I actually got along fine with everyone. The arayns are the smallest group. Latin kings run the prison(work in the laundry kitchens etc.) bloods and kryps are supposed to hate each other but even they get along for the most part.

Child molesters: first day at southern state I got to my bunk and some older white guy comes in with a box puts it on the bunk next to mine and asked me to watch it. He goes to talk to the guards. I'm sitting on my bunk when this big puerto rican named brick walks up picks up the box and dumps it all over the floor. I'm new so I just sit there and brick is like 6'6 and huge. So he's going thru this guys shit he finds his paper work looks at me and says don't do anything for anyone in here. I guess he heard the guy ask me to watch his shit. So as it turns out the guy had copious amounts of kiddie porn he had gotten caught with. The story around the place was this guy was coming back from medical after being beaten by the guards. So this guy comes back down the wing two guys are following him. He sees his shit all over the floor and tries to turn around but the guys behind him stop him from getting away. Needless to say he went back to medical.

When I was a kid I and people I grew up with fought a lot. As you get older you ease up on fighting at least I did out of fear of really hurting someone. Point is when grown men fight its really brutal. What I saw that day changed me a little bit. But I got cool with brick and some of the other Latin kings and they fed me well. They are great guys actually very loyal. They just don't like child molesters. Neither do I but I don't think I could of beaten anyone that badly. I'd rather kill someone than beat them unmercifully like that.

So yeah any rape child porn child molestation charges watch out. Even the guards won't help you.
