Snake is officially the most badass person here.

Snake, what type of tobacco products were available in prison? I heard most people roll there own in there, and that packs of cigarettes get used as currency.

They had bugler and kites for 3.00 a pack. You have to roll those. I like menthol so I smoked kites. They had newports and marlboros for almost 10.00 a pack. You only buy those once in a while cause they are too expensive. They had some generic brands too that were 6-7 dollars a pack. And yes packs of rollies are used as currency. Gambling debts. Playboy mags. Food. Drugs. All can be bought with cigs. Newports were referred to as Cadillacs.
When I got out I had to find a place with kites till I made the transition back to newports. Rollie's are strong compared to real cigs. I went in smoking 2/3 a pack a day now I smoke a pack and a half but hey something has to kill you so whatever.

There is a library in prison. Though there isn't one in county. You could also have your family or friends send books or magazines. Porn mags were playboy and penthouse but there were some more hardcore mags floating around.

Some of the guys that were doing long time were huge. They had like 5-10 years in already and there isn't much else to do but lift. So yeah they were huge. FYI scumbag. Power lifters aren't actually as big as bodybuilders. As for beating the hell out of people yeah it happened. For the most part the guys that were big were the guys with the most time in and were actually the calmest.

Drugs in prison: heroin-I never did it but prices were between 20-30 dollars depending on if you know someone. Weed: you could get a skinny joint for 7 bucks. Coke I didn't see. Some pills but idk the prices on those.
All this would be paid for with your commissary.

Laundry I never saw anyone have to do laundry for someone else unless they had to pay off a gambling debt. You can give the laundry guy a pack of Rollies a week to do your laundry and fold it.

Food and supplies: candy bars honey buns ramen noodles rice chille in a pouch veg in a pouch tuna in a pouch. There was a pretty big selection. It all tasted like shit but you make do.

The guy I knew that was in prison said you could buy whey protein powder from commisary. What was the exercise equipment like? Did they have barbells and squat racks? Was there any huge alpha male weight lifters that stole people's food off their tray and no one messed with them?

Nah no whey protein. They had bar bells and bench presses and squat racks and they had pulley machines. There were big guys who were pricks but I never saw anyone's food get taken off their tray. Peoples commissary did get stolen periodically.

I like scumbag and snake. Welcome to the forums. Too bad you missed the "Adveser making an ass out of himself on the microphone" era.
