The Voivod comparison is valid in the way that it is kinda Sci-Fi Thrash. I agree that they are original, but they seem like a modern day Voivod to me. I really enjoy this album. I have Black Future, but never really gave it much of a chance. I'll have to go back to it. The vocals take some getting used to, but at least it's something different. It kinda helps create the vibe this album exudes. It make me think of deep space horror/thriller movies like Sphere or Sunshine or Event Horizon. It definitely has a raw futuristic vibe.
Yeah, I know it's sci-fi thrash, but what I'm saying in the review is that's where the similarities end. The similiarites are pretty superficial in the end, because the actual music is completely different. Neither of Vektor's albums sounds anything like Killing Technology or Nothingface, you know what I mean? You're never going to put on Vektor and think you're listening to Voivod. Very different albums. Also, I agree completely that it's very suitable music for movies. I have often thought it would be cool if a director made some kind of psychedelic animated movie with no dialogue, and just let Vektor score the whole thing.

Hexen is the only young formation I can think of that almost can compete with Vektor. If any of you lads know of some others, feel free to share.
- Urto, a tech-thrash band from Italy. Very good stuff.
- Algebra, also tech-thrash but from Switzerland. Not quite up to the standard of the others yet, but their debut has a huge amount of promise.
