Just packed a bowl and was about to start tackling this list. I am currently listening to some Graveyard on youtube, don't know if anybody mentioned them but they fit the sound I am really looking for. Maybe a little too staright forward for me, but the riffs and the groove and just the old school feel to it, ah... I love dope.

Anyway, I will start with page 1 and work my way through. This may take a while. I'll try and comment as I go.
Dude do me a favor. Just real quick type midnight satanic royalty into YouTube and listen and tell me what you think of that pure awesomeness. Please.

Yep. Did you listen to the song possession yet? It's still got my top spot for favorite song off that album. But the whole album rips. There are some really great guitar parts too.

Btw Wally, I started spinning Christian mistress and Jess and the ancient ones at the same time I've been going one then the other for about a week now. At first I totally thought Christian mistress was just a way stronger album but over the last couple days Jess has really started to sink in and has almost taken the top spot for the two bands. So in other words Jess and the ancient ones is a grower but it has some serious payoff. My suggestion for that album would be to purchase it and spent some time with it. It's not as heavy as Christian mistress but there is some kind of magic in it. The lyrics are just awesome and she has a amazing voice. If you like the Christian mistress chicks voice I think you will really like Jess's voice.

I did. I started with the song, then started the album from the beginning. Now it's in my amazon cart.

I need to add to this post too. Royal thunder is totally worth checking out too. I know I've mentioned it already but I think if u like Christian mistress you will like them too. They aren't as 70's sounding but still fucking great. She has a awesome voice. Sorry to keep beating you in the head Wally. I just know these are good bands and I want you to listen to them so we can discuss them. Raven only pops his head in once in a while and he is the only other person that already has experience with these bands. I need someone to talk to about them damn it!! Haha. Enjoy buddy. I'll leave you be now.

I'm only on the 3rd band of Steve's post, except for trying Christian Mistress. After I've made a dent in your list, I'll put up a big post of what I really liked and why and what didn't too much for me. So far, besides 2 of the bands trapt posted and 1 of steves, I am liking everything I am hearing.

My main concern is being overloaded with bands and missing on something truly great becuase it didn't catch me the first time. But, I usually give every album at least 3 spins. If listening with my good headphones while smoking up and they still don't click then I'll move on. That's my final test, ha, the headphone test. The headphone and marijuana test. God damn, this is awesome. My roommates hate me right now. There are no headphones being used tonight.

It's amazing to me that all these female fronted 70's tinged occult doom rock bands came out all in the last 2 or three maybe 4 years and they are all pretty damn good. It's amazing. I'm so on board with this it's not even funny.

Yeah.

I've just been blown away by Christian Mistress, Jex Thoth, and Blood Ceremony. I guess I am on board too.

Yeah, but other people have been doing things like it for a while now. It just got pounced on my labels as of recent. Jex Thoth is one of those bands that has been around for years, cranking amazing music out.
