Tate and Kiske you could compare I think, I love all three bands but I like vocals with the higher register of Kiske or Tate over the (great) vocals of Blind Guardian, so in my opinion Tate is better on records, but live I'd flip it and say Guardian are better

This is not power metal and I've heard enough power metal to tell.

don't blame me I didn't write the review, I think power metal fans would like this EP though and that is the point I was trying to make all along

Indeed. This is plain old heavy metal leaning towards Iron Maiden worship.

Agreed. It's heavy metal, not prog, not power, good old heavy metal. Same goes for The Warning.

Pretty much this. Except for the "Maiden worship"... there's nothing Maidenesque about this album, and I've heard it a million times.

I'd give it in the high 80's as well....this one and "The Warning" are my favorites......Queen of the Reich rules! 8)

Agreed. This is what broke them which at the time it was released this was considered metal perfection for a debut. I remember that QR was receiving very high praise for it from the Kerrang offices. I love 'The Warning' as well even though it took sometime to grow on me because it wasn't as heavy sounding as the EP.

Crims, you should get the remaster of this. The expanded edition has a crapload of live tracks from their prime! They sound amazing!

Thanks for the info on this. I just looked it up on iTunes and I had no idea they had remastered it and added the extra material.

remaster with the live stuff is the version I've got, before I heard Queen Of The Reich I had never even thought of buying any of their stuff, probably should get some of their other classic material at some point
