The more I listen to this the more i like it. I'm not sure what score i would give it though. I'll have to listen to it a few more times.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. Does anyone understand the lyrics for Wicked Witch? What do they mean? Sorry for the dumb question, but I just don't get it.

I assumed they're about Wizard of Oz, by the title alone, I didn't really followed the lyrics. Great song though.

Wicked Witch seems to be about the Wizard of Oz from a really twisted angle. Leave it to Hansi to come up with something like that. Remember, this is the same man who turned Mordred into a sympathetic character. Hansi rules!

I just have to say I love the album. Even more than the first one, this album really does seem to sit halfway between IE and BG, which is pretty cool.

Did anyone notice how the opening riff for Terror Train actually felt like a train? That's the kind of musicianship I miss in so much of today's world.

Ya i've listened to this a lot now and i've decided it just kicks ass. Great album. Hansi and Schaffer are two of the best musicians out there right now.

I thoroughly enjoyed the self titled release, haven't bought this one yet but I plan on changing that very soon

I found it to be decent, but nothing that I come back to with any regularity.

For his projects I think I enjoy Sons of Liberty more.

The Patriotism is pretty heavy handed, but I enjoy the songwriting.

2005 ?? Fuck, time flies and I'm old.

The album is good though. Holds up.

I'm not a big fan of Terror Train, Seize the Day and Wicked Witch, the rest is excellent though. Crimson King starts off like Iced Earth in its prime, murdering riffs!

The full-length is much stronger than the EP.

Agreed, Jekyll Island is a good song.

:D Yeah, time flies. And this album is really really good.
I know I'm probably in the minority here but I always liked this one better than the S/T. I don't know, probably the atmosphere, I love all those fast tracks but my favorite here would be Down Where I Am, what a great slow song. The only one that does nothing for me is Seize The Day and Immigrant Song, classic but unnercessary. And those two bonus tracks, awesome.

Yeah, "Immigrant Song" had no business on the main album. The two bonus tracks are fucking great and shouldn't have been bonus tracks.

My favorite tracks are "Dorian" and "Love's Tragedy Asunder."

The self titled is one of my favourite albums of all time.

This one is quite mediocre in comparison. It has it's moments (e.g. Dorian minus the wanky middle bit) but lacks the punch and memorable song writing of the first one.

I'd give it a 65/100.

Time certainly does fly by. I was 24 when this was reviewed and now i'M 32 and it doesn't feel like 8 years have passed at all. More like 2-3

First thing i know i will be 40 and bumping this very thread and write about how i wrote this post 8 years ago

Ugh. I'm in a similar age bracket and it's scary how fast time passes by. I can remember it like it was yesterday, I had the album on pre-order but it had leaked as mp3 earlier and I didn't have the strength to resist so I downloaded and listened to it right away. To think that was eight years ago is plain freaky.

Hell, they should have another album out by now
