Also, I really enjoyed the "50 metal musician's yearbook photos" article linked to from your link.

LOL at Kirk Hammett. He looks like a lady.

Lars Ulrich still looked like an anal gladiator even as a child.

Anybody following the trial?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Blythe

I forgot about it til today, but now I'm up to date. Its adjourned until March, but sounds pretty interesting so far. The testimony from the dead guy's friends sounds pretty damning, but then the testimony from the other concert attendees were very much in his favor.

Will be fascinating to see what happens in March.

Same. From what I've read, it seems like Randy did push him... whether that counts as murder due to the venue conditions is another question. Certainly seems like he's responsible, though.

gut feel is he's either going to be convicted of manslaughter, not murder, or he'll be found not guilty of murder and walk out of court a free man, I can't see how the prosecution can prove murder beyond reasonable doubt

I don't know anything about the Czech justice system, but I think here he might be able to get away with a reckless endangerment convinction. I wonder if there's anything similar over there.

I don't know about statute laws over there but I would think something similar ought to exist, of course I could be wrong maybe the elements of murder there are different to here, certainly in Australia it would be impossible for a murder conviction to be passed on him

He isn't even being charged with murder, only manslaughter.

His instagram, http://instagram.com/drandallblythe/ is amazing in terms of showing how articulate he is, but also some of what he is pondering in light of all of this.

hang on why are people talking about murder when that isn't the charge, more importantly HOW THE FUCK DID I MISS THAT???

Manslaughter I think he's pretty much fucked but you can never be certain when it comes to the judicial system

Because people are too stupid to know the difference between murder and involuntary manslaughter.

He doesn't have to be in Prague during the March trials, which is supposed to finish in like two days. And there is no extradition between the US and the Czech. If he gets convicted, I don't know why he would leave his wive and go back there. I understand he feels some obligation to the family, but him being in prison doesn't change the fact that their son is gone. I feel like he should Polanski and stick to where he knows he can't be extradited, touring the States.

I'm not a fan of Lamb Of God's music but I agree there's no reason for him to go back there when it doesn't benefit anyone, it will restrict the band's touring unless he just doesn't go when they play in Europe

I think we all underestimated the Czech justice system.
