The music on this disc is pretty good but it's the vocals that had me second guessing....at times he sounds like a mix between Robert Fleischman of Vinnie Vincent's Invasion as well as Jason Mcmaster from Watchtower. This disc might grow on me over time..... :)

I've listened to this and it's good. I'll probably pick it up but album of the year? Every has their own opinion but I don't think this is anything really special. It's similar to Wolf in that it's very well done but you've already heard it all before. An 80-85/100 and a top 20 release sounds pretty good to me.

So why give them 74?

BTW, this band is currently on tour in NA with Metal Church.

For me I agree with the Metal reviews definition of "Very Good". I just don't think the disc is at the "Outstanding" definition just yet, if at all...... 8)

8/10

If I have any faults, it's that there aren't many hooks. The leads are tasty, but you don't remember much after listening to the album. Production-wise, there didn't seem to be much bottom end. Maybe that's just me, or my CD player.

Well, that is what i like about my reviews, they are strictly my opinion, and nothing more. If I influence more people to buy the album from my review, then so be it, but that is not what i am trying to do. I thought it was outstanding, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. At least give it a listen and give it your opinion, i am curious to think what everyone else (besides the guys on here, i know their reactions already) thinks about it.

Once again, the underscore system comes through. Kind of your average 80's metal album if you ask me.

this is indeed an oustanding album... no weak song, good production, good musicianship Udo/King Diamond vocalist... a true pleasure for any 80's metal lover !

but what about newer metal generations ? it's so 80's I doubt they'll like it... too bad since it's a real treasure chest 3 Inches Of Blood delivers here !

90/100

Wow. I was definately surprised by this one. I heard about it, but the release on Roadrunner made me pass it by. What a mistake! This album rocks! Few albums make me want to just grab an axe and go crazy, except Amon Amarth of course. But this, this is something else. This is pure fucking old-school war metal! Catchy and extreme. It has screaming, growling, and singing. All good shit. Exceptional debut, and exceptional music. Forgive me 3 Inches Of Blood, for I have underestimated you. Now back to the hacking and slashing!!

3 Inches of Blood make a great bridge between a power metal-fan like myself and all the screamo/hardcore kids I know

This is a great album. I got it like a week ago and have listened to it a ton already. There need to be more albums like this.

I have exactly the same problem with this CD. "Deadly Sinners"is the only track that really stands out. The rest seems kinda derivative.
Vocals are ok, riffs are ok, nothing really bad, but also not very great.

Maybe it needs some more spins to grow on me?
