I think I like the first one more, but this is still top notch and very relaxing and fun to listen to.

More like Korpiklaani or more like Drudkh's Songs of Grief and Solitude?

Grief & Solitude, definitely, no metal at all, but much more going on than with most folk bands who seem quite minimalist in general.

Gibu is adorable! I really dig when they kinda fall into an instrumentally minimalist vibe, but then silly 'folk' singing or spoken word or background shouting appears and ruins the atmosphere created. Interesting stuff, but I don't love what they've done with it. Great neo-folk, but not what I want from the genre.

Any chance their debut lacked those elements?

The debut was more minimalist and had less chanting/vocals.

It also has the song "Kauna," which so fucking shitty I want to stab someone every time I hear it.

Not that this is relevant to the discussion in any way.
