You ought to coin 'Satyriconistas'

Methinks you were feeling a bit charitable when you reviewed this. Why couldn't they just listen to a bunch of Aborym and then do another Rebel Extravaganza or something? Anyway, Our World, It Rumbles, was just pathetic.

I listened to a bit on the internet.. not impressed at all.. I wasn't able to listen to any song the whole way through without getting bored.. It's a shame, but o well.. I will just reach for Nemesis Divina when I feel like listening to Satyricon....

Not getting an overwhelming sense of confidence that this is worthy. I may check it out, but it sounds like I probably wont like it.

meh, there's always Shadowthrone and DMT.

Scared to hear the whole album. I did a whole spiel on how I feel Satyricon was one of the first and best Black Metal bands I ever heard and that Nemesis Divina shares the top spot with Anthems and De Mysteriis on Last Rites. So I'll spare you the ordeal. I do feel that the band still deserves iconic status. This being said, if it sucks, it sucks. I am willing to give it a really good listen though because of the admiration I have for this band. Nothing will ever undo Nemesis Divina. The feeling I got when I first started listening to Black Metal and it was mail order only from overseas.

I've never heard Enslaved call themselves the future of black metal, yet none of their CD's aren't as average-to-bad as this offering & their music is true progression.

How arrogant is this clown?

I'm pretty much a Satyricon die hard and more or less enjoy all of their albums... But with that being said, there's very little to like here. The production of the album lacks the usual punch that Satyricon albums usually have... And all the lazy and uninspired tracks that drone on aren't in traditional Satyricon fashion, either.

I mean when they put this thing together did they not hear how underwhelming the album is? I mean it's all well and good if they want to mix up their sound, but there's really not a lot here.

Pretty disappointing. I mean I even like most of Now Diabolical. This stuff is just uninspired.

I like it. I'd give it a 7/10. It's not their best, or their most metal, but it's fun, relaxing and has a cool sound to it. They're old now according to the record, and yeah, they have been around for a while so I guess this is their "we're older now." record.
