Oh my God, a classic Root review
Man I didn't expect that here, since this band has never appeared in any discussion here, to my knowledge. I actually thought about making a thread about them a while back, but I was too lazy. Criminally underrated but fantastic band, one of my favourites. Zad, if you liked their The Book sound better, get Kärgeräs, Black Seal and Temple in The Underworld, those are pretty much masterpieces. Madness of the Graves is pretty good too, actually you can't go wrong with Root, except maybe their latest, Daemon Viam Invenient, that was kind of a disapointment. But the bulk of their discography is pure gold. These guys and Manilla Road are the kings of epic metal for me, and much like in Manilla Road's case you need to invest a lot of time listening to their albums, over and over. They are complex and ethereal and home to many secrets and they will always be a surprise ride, but they're worth it every single time.
