Looks like Nuclear blast toilet metal.

Sounds really good to me. Cool to hear Barlow again.

I'm a huge fan of Iced Earth and Barlow in particular but this did nothing for me. I found the songs to be pretty generic power metal with maybe one or two songs (Move The Chains & Dead Man's Plight) having a decent chorus or some kind of hook. Definitely expected a lot more from these guys. Barlow does sound phenomenal but the songs are just not good. Hopefully their follow-up will be better.

It's not bad. I hadn't set my expectations very high when I first listened to it but I found it quite enjoyable. It's fairly generic as far as songwriting goes but Barlow elevates it and the songs are decent enough for me to keep it in my rotation. A rating in the 70's seems about right.

This is not power metal, generic or otherwise, or thrash metal. This is just straight up traditional heavy metal. And it's a great album. A grower. I was disappointed at first, but after repeated listens it just got better and better.

It's easy to look at the members' previous and expect certain things, but these guys put out an album not quite like their previous bands' albums. Although there are some moments that are very reminiscent of Iced Earth's Burnt Offerings.

Easily an 80/100.

Was at my guitarist friends place who was a big Iced earth fan back when we were in high school. i played a few songs fron this namely the music video and some other god awful ballad, its basically leftover chug riffs and sht ballads and any associated. IE sideprojects overutilization of Master of. Puppets gallops. It was shit of course

And I was utterly persuaded momentarily, but let me offer a counter-argument now that I have recovered from Ken's rhetorical onslaught: we know Steve listens to music that isn't just verses, choruses, and bridges, but does Ken?

Also, Ken likes Volbeat.

I can vaguely remember Ken bragging about his collection of many thousands of records. One would think he'd have developed, as a result, a more refined taste in music than fucking Volbeat. Then again, I also recall him discussing the merits of dating African-American women, so maybe that was all just words.
