Sorry gents, with trapt's link as evidence I lean towards Steve's reaction.

Are you throwing the first three albums under the bus? Because that would be a dumb move. You have to admit at least two out of the three are fucking spectacular.

NO!

Apparently, it's a demo of a song off an upcoming album that lacks a release date. I had been listening to them all weekend with the ladyfriend, from Atavism to Traveller to Ape Uprising. I was wondering what they had in the works, but with Scalzi's apartment burning down I just expected maybe nothing was happening for them.

Very Thin Lizzy-esque with the production, rather rockin'/chill nature and that break: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dSt8Hg_J4Y

Steve "Zetro" Souza is back in Exodus. New album due later this year.

Goodbye Rob Dukes.

Interesting. Souza left the band under a cloud after Tempo. Did Holt give any reason for the change?

I haven't heard anything as to why. But my guess is that Dukes can't afford to sit around and wait for Holt to finish with Slayer to continue Exodus. Dukes has a band called Generation Kill that released their second album late last year/early this year. I'm guessing he's gonna focus on his band and try to make some money while Holt tours the world with Slayer. Souza is in like 4 other bands so I'm sure he can keep busy until Gary is ready to get the Shovel Headed Kill Machine back in motion.

Metallica are headlining Glastonbury tonight.

According to a poll, four out of five people who brought tickets wanted to sell them after Metallica were announced.

I hope they pull the stops out and play a solely old-school set to a crowd of screaming animal rights activists. Amazing to think that playing Glastonbury might be the biggest restoration of metal cred the 'tallica have had in years.

Well it wasn't like that, but they put their hearts into it with a typically solid setlist and had a game crowd. I know Bruce Dickinson is right to badmouth Glastonbury, but it has a status that no other festival here does and it's good to see a metal band getting talked about in the mainstream for once. If Iron Maiden took the full live show there, with devils and costume changes and all, they'd blow minds like no other and make every other band on the lineup look halfhearted. Anyway, Metallica did a good, passionate job tonight, thumbs up.

When I first read that quote, the South Park episode 'Die, Hippie, Die' instantly came to mind. The fact that Slayer ends up saving a middle class, conservative town from a deadly hippie infestation is just too funny.

Anyone have news about what Melechesh is up to these days? I think I saw Sakis (Rotting Christ) and Ashmedi (Melechesh) in a photo together on FB, but I can't recall how old the photos were. I would be thrilled for a new Melechesh album.
